The Municipality of Nijmegen set out to simplify the management and accessibility of its geospatial imagery. Previously, separate viewers were required for panoramic imagery, oblique aerial photography, and LiDAR point clouds, resulting in fragmented workflows and unnecessary complexity.
The objective was to consolidate all imagery into a single, intuitive web platform, providing municipal staff with seamless access to both historical and newly acquired datasets through one unified viewer.

The platform enables users to access panoramic imagery, oblique imagery, LiDAR point clouds, orthophotos, and other geospatial datasets from one centralized environment. Eliminating the need for multiple viewers significantly improves efficiency and creates a consistent user experience across the organization.
Accessible to Every User
Designed for organization-wide adoption, the platform is accessible through any modern web browser and integrates seamlessly with existing IT environments, including Citrix. Single Sign-On (SSO) with Microsoft Entra ID provides secure authentication while role-based permissions ensure every user has access to the functionality appropriate for their responsibilities.
Designed for Ease of Use
Usability was a key design principle. Common workflows require only a minimal number of clicks, while navigation and measurement tools remain intuitive for both GIS specialists and occasional users. This enables departments across the municipality to work with geospatial data without requiring extensive technical training.
