Trimble X7 and X9 processing without a RealWorks licence per workstation

The X7 and X9 are designed to keep field work as simple as possible, with automatic calibration, self-levelling and registration of setups while capture is still under way. The X7 reaches up to 500,000 points per second at a range of around 80 metres. The X9 comes in three configurations, with a range of roughly 40, 80 or 150 metres and up to a million points per second. After the field, work shifts to Trimble Perspective and RealWorks, exchanged through the TDX format and licensed per workstation. Setups, imagery and point cloud in one coherent dataset

An X7 or X9 project consists of setups already linked to one another in the field, each with its own point cloud and its own imagery. GEORIZON processes that structure as a whole rather than only the merged cloud. The imagery per setup is preserved as a station you can look around and measure from at the instrument's own vantage point, while the point cloud is thinned on point density, cleared of noise and moving objects, colourised from the imagery and structured into tiles for fast display in the browser. Finally the whole is placed in the reference frame your organisation works in, based on surveyed control points, so the dataset is absolutely positioned rather than merely internally consistent.

From a series of setups to one continuous project

Field registration on these scanners is strong, but on projects with dozens or hundreds of setups you want certainty about how they hang together and where they sit. GEORIZON checks the fit between setups, reports the residual per link and ties the whole to your control points. The same applies across sensor boundaries: an X9 capture of a plant room or a structure can sit alongside mobile mapping data or aerial imagery of the same area, in the same frame and the same viewer. For repeat capture this means successive survey rounds can be placed side by side and differences made visible.

Publish straight to viewer, API, WMTS and download

Once processing is complete, the dataset is waiting in your own GEORIZON tenant. Colleagues, clients and partners open the point cloud and imagery in the browser without an installation or a licence per user, measure distances and heights, and share a location through a direct link. To use the data in your own environment, connect to the open API, add a WMTS layer in QGIS or ArcGIS, or download the point cloud in common formats such as LAZ or E57. Faces and number plates are automatically blurred in line with the GDPR, single sign-on and an on-premises deployment are supported, and AI detection and vectorisation can optionally be applied to extract objects from the dataset. Organisations including ProRail (SpoorInBeeld), the municipality of Nijmegen and Kempkes Landmeten work with their geodata this way.
