Turn your ECW or GeoTIFF files into a WMTS service without running a server, with tile servers per dataset and area for a fixed period.
An archive of ECW or GeoTIFF files only becomes truly useful when colleagues, contractors and partners can open it as a map layer. That takes a WMTS server, and setting up, tuning and scaling one takes time. GEORIZON takes that over: you deliver the files, we convert them into our own tile format and publish them as a WMTS service.
First we review the files together: format, coordinate system, file size and the area to be published. Then you deliver the files and they are converted to the GEORIZON tile format. You do not have to convert them to another file format first. Next we publish the dataset as a WMTS service with a capabilities document, which you add as a URL in QGIS, ArcGIS or your own web viewer. How long the conversion takes depends on the size of the dataset; you get an indication during the intake.
A WMTS layer does not have to be permanent, and it does not have to be available to everyone. You issue a tile server per dataset and per area, for an agreed period. A contractor or consultancy then only reaches the project area and loses access at the end of the assignment. Access runs through tokens and permissions per project, not through an open URL, and usage is metered.
You do not have to install a WMTS server, pre-generate tiles on your own hardware or set up a CDN. Nor do you have to maintain a tile scheme for your coordinate system yourself. If you currently run an ERDAS Apollo environment or another geoserver for these layers, also read our page about the alternative to ERDAS Apollo.
