GeoViewer

Key facts

All geospatial data in one viewer

Access 360° imagery, oblique aerial photography, LiDAR point clouds, and sewer inspection images from a single platform.

Smart access to open and protected data

Public and open datasets are shared where possible, while sensitive information remains securely protected based on data ownership and intended use.

Open and future-proof

Seamlessly integrates with existing GIS, asset management, and municipal information systems through open APIs and industry standards.

One digital platform for the public space

The GeoViewer provides the Municipality of Hellendoorn with a central platform for viewing and managing multiple geospatial datasets. Users can seamlessly switch between 360° street-level imagery, oblique aerial imagery, LiDAR point clouds, and sewer inspection images, creating a complete digital representation of both above- and underground infrastructure. By bringing all information together in one environment, the platform improves collaboration across departments and reduces the need to work with multiple disconnected applications.

Open where possible, protected where required

The GeoViewer follows a flexible data access model. Datasets that are suitable for public sharing can be made available as open data, while other datasets remain accessible only to authorized users. Access rights are determined by the origin of the data, ownership, licensing conditions, privacy requirements, and intended use. This enables municipalities to safely combine internally managed datasets with information provided by external organizations, contractors, and utility companies within a single platform, while maintaining full control over data security and governance.

Future-proof asset management platform

Built on an open architecture, the GeoViewer supports interoperability with existing GIS, asset management, and municipal information systems. New Mobile Mapping surveys, LiDAR acquisitions, aerial imagery, sewer inspections, or third-party datasets can easily be added over time. Through open APIs and industry standards, the platform serves as a scalable single source of truth for managing the public space, supporting inspection, maintenance, engineering, and digital decision-making for years to come.
