Ladybug processing
Raw Ladybug streams processed automatically into measurable, publishable panoramas in GEORIZON, usually within 24 hours. Vendor independent, with no per user licence.
Teledyne FLIR spherical cameras record 360 degree imagery in a proprietary stream format that preserves the raw sensor images from each camera head. Converting that material into usable panoramas is normally done afterwards, using the Ladybug SDK or LadybugCapPro, on a local workstation and configured again for every project. GEORIZON takes that step off your hands: we process the raw streams together with your trajectory automatically into georeferenced, measurable panoramas that are immediately available in the viewer, the API and the download.
A Ladybug recording does not contain ready made panoramas. It holds the compressed images of the individual camera heads, together with timestamps and, where configured, the NMEA messages written by your GNSS receiver. GEORIZON reads that material directly and runs the full imaging chain: debayering, exposure compensation, white balance, gamma and tone mapping. The images are then stitched into an equirectangular panorama using the factory calibration of your specific camera. By matching the capture times to your post processed trajectory, typically derived from a combined GNSS and IMU solution, every panorama receives a position and orientation in the coordinate system you work in. The result is not a flat photo series, but imagery you can measure in and derive objects from.
Organisations that capture Ladybug data on a regular basis tend to run into the same constraints: processing happens on a single workstation, the knowledge sits with one colleague and turnaround times grow along with the data volume. GEORIZON runs the processing in the cloud, in a dedicated tenant per customer. You upload the raw streams and the matching trajectory, the pipeline scales with the size of the project and usually delivers a fully processed dataset within 24 hours. No licence per user is required and there is no dependency on a single supplier. If you operate several sensors, panoramas from a Ladybug and point clouds from another system come together in the same environment, so you review everything in one place.
As soon as processing is complete, your data is freely available in GEORIZON. In the viewer you navigate through the survey, measure distances and heights inside the panorama and record annotations. Through the open API and WMTS you connect the same data to your own GIS or asset management application, and the download function delivers the material in open formats for use elsewhere. Faces and number plates are blurred automatically, so publication stays within the requirements of the GDPR. If you want to go further, we detect and vectorise objects with AI, for example traffic signs, poles or road markings. Access is managed through SSO, and an on premises deployment is possible for organisations with strict requirements. ProRail with SpoorInBeeld, the municipality of Nijmegen and Kempkes Landmeten all work with their geodata in this way.
